Balmer Lawn is noted in the Doomsday Book, is the lawn directly in front of the hotel and incorporated the Brockenhurst Cricket Club cricket square.
Originally built in the mid 1800's as a hunting lodge, Balmer Lawn is a classic Country House Hotel. The hotel enjoys direct access to the New Forest, with leisure facilities, dining to meet all tastes with a two AA rosette restaurant, 'Beresfords' or an Al fresco dining menu for slightly more relaxed dining in the outdoor restaurant, 'The Lodge Kitchen and Bar'. A micro brewery is located within the grounds producing a "bitter" only available at the hotel. There are several different categories of comfortable rooms, many with Forest views and all rooms can be viewed on the hotel website. The bedroom categories range from Small Standard to Family bedrooms, to the wonderful Suite and Luxury bedrooms, all offering a peaceful nights sleep no matter what the occasion. The Saltus Spa which is located on site, offers treatments using ESPA products with their wonderfully trained therapists.

The Lodge Kitchen & Bar is a more casual indoor/outdoor dining option, guests will enjoy the feeling of dining outdoors whilst soaking up the warmth from the heaters and cosy blankets in the winter and the doors opening out in the summer to enjoy a cocktail in the sun! With a contemporary outdoor bar it provides a fantastic covered space to relax and enjoy dining with friends and family. As part of the ‘al fresco’ dining experience, the all day menu is available in both areas and othen stone baked Pizza's are available in the Lodge. The Lodge is completely covered and themed all year round, alongside with events happening most weekends, such as live music, which can be found on their website!
