The Hotel is one of the most familiar buildings to visitors travelling to the New Forest and is located close to Lyndhurst, the 'heart of the New Forest'. Situated on the outskirts of the village of Brockenhurst and privately owned by the Wilson Family for twenty four years, .

What makes a stay at Balmer Lawn Hotel unique?

The flat grass space of the Balmer Lawn has always been part of the history of the New Forest and is listed in the Doomsday Book. Originally built in the mid 1800's as a hunting lodge, the Balmer Lawn is a classic Country House Hotel. The hotel enjoys direct access to the New Forest, two heated pools, dining to meet all tastes with a two AA rosette restaurant or Terrace menu for more relaxed dining. A micro brewery is located within the Hotel grounds. There are several different categories of comfortable rooms, many with Forest views and all rooms can be viewed on the hotel website. The Saltus Spa offers treatments using ESPA products.

The Hotel is home to the Saltus Spa, Gym, Nordic Sauna, whirlpool spa bath and two heated pools. The outdoor pool is seasonal.

The Brockenhurst area offers many walks and cycling paths that showcases the beauty of the New Forest. The glorious beach of Mudeford is thirty minutes away and local attractions include Beaulieu National Motor Museum, Bucklers Hard plus the opportunity to go sailing in the Solent. The Isle of Wight can be reached by a regular ferry service from Lymington

Beresfords, the two rosette restaurant of the Hotel, is renown for offering innovative dishes using the finest possible local ingredients and being the highlight of many stays. The enticing restaurant menu is available everyday for lunch and dinner with a tempting choice of starters, sharing bites, main courses, desserts and a cheese board that has to be seen to be believed! 

The newest indoor outdoor dining concept is The Lodge Kitchen & Bar. Guests will enjoy the feeling of dining outdoors whilst soaking up the warmth from the heaters and cozy blankets. The Lodge is completely covered and themed all year round. With a contemporary outdoor bar and Gozney Pizza oven it provides a fantastic safe covered outdoor space to relax and enjoy dining with friends and family again. Specialising in sharing platters, mouth watering home made pizzas, sumptuous pastas and indulgent desserts.

As a family friendly hotel, children are always considered and the Children’s Menu will not disappoint!

The Hotel has its own micro-brewery providing guests with Smokin Deer ale. Alternatively, browse the wine list or cocktail menu.
