The house is a wonderful example of the influence of William Morris and the Arts and Craft Movement. Inside most of the wallpaper, fabrics and furniture are by William Morris. The collection of pre-Raphaelite paintings includes work by Millais, Rossetti and Watts. Much of the stained glass is by Charles Kempe and the tiles on the fireplaces are by De Morgan.
