The Birthplace of the United States of America! Built by George Washington's Ancestors in the 16th century, the Manor is now owned by the peoples of the United Kingdom and the United States and stands as a symbol of the friendship and goodwill between the 2 countries. Visitors are led through the house by guides who tell lighthearted but fascinating stories of the Washington family, the house and its evolution. Containing the largest collection of Washington memorabilia in the UK it is a must see for those with an interest in American heritage.
