Anthony Salvin remodelled the Castle in the 1860s. The Great Hall is filled with paintings and heraldic windows, and the Octagonal Library rises to a Gothic vault. In the Dining Room, complete with restored leather wall-coverings, the family silver and an ornamental set of Derby porcelain are displayed. Florentine bronzes, fine Elizabethan furniture, tapestries, embroidery and oriental rugs can also be seen.
