Overview

Catgill Farm is set in a magnificent setting within the beautiful village of Bolton Abbey. You will find yourself surrounded by picturesque views of the lush, rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales and a fantastic location with loads nearby to keep the whole family entertained. Since opening its doors in 2014, Catgill Farm campsite has become a firm favourite and has proved to be a massive hit whilst retaining much of its original charm. It is easy to see why, it has been named "The best campsite in the North East 2023" by the campsites.co.uk.

If you're searching for a luxurious stay you're not going to find better glamping than at Catgill Farm where the owners have considered every detail. Choose between their woodland-themed bell tents or timber pods - both of which are truly unique spaces, set their magical Glamping Hideaway amongst the trees. Each accommodation has a private outdoor area that is smartly designed to enjoy the wonderful views, whether you are relaxing in your private hot tub, kicking back in the lounge chairs, toasting marshmallows around the fire pit, or enjoying a family meal from your spacious dining table you will be spoilt with some of the finest Yorkshire scenery as far as the eye can see. 

Timber Pods: These are no ordinary Glamping Pods! Carefully designed by owner Oliver, who is also an architect, they are bigger than most and completely tailor-made. Fully insulated with central heating and complete with all the facilities and equipment you may need these spacious pods rival the best holiday cottages. They can comfortably sleep up to 6 people and include an ensuite, kitchenette, free WiFi, smart TV, sofa, dining table, and kids' bunk beds. Three of these luxury pods have had an exciting upgrade - brand-new Geo Domes! No more worrying about unpredictable British weather just the perfect outdoor living experience! You also have the option to bring your 4-legged best friend along with you.

Bell Tents: Two giant luxury tents are kitted out to the very highest standards and share their own private toilet and showers for those who prefer an under-canvas experience. These bell tents have everything you need, from cooking equipment to fairy lights and hot water bottles. They can accommodate up to 4 people with a cosy log burner, a large bed and 2 futon beds for the little ones. They have a sink with running water, wireless internet and electricity! This option brings all the joys of camping with all your comforts and creates a happy and relaxed atmosphere for the whole family.

What is there to see and do at Catgill Farm – Camping and Luxury Glamping?

A Walkers Paradise: Located less than a mile from Bolton Abbey Priory, you can find hiking routes for every age and skill from there. The Dalesway footpath leads through picturesque villages like Ilkley, Burnsall and Grassington along the Wharfe River. 

Cycling: Situated near many popular cycling routes, including the Tour de France and Tour de Yorkshire, which offers a great place to explore Yorkshire. If you're more interested in mountain biking, the nearest bridleway leads to miles of off-road biking and the challenging hills of the Dales.

Forget the Car: Close to so many attractions during your stay, that you could forget about your car. Hesketh Farm Park is directly next door and offers a great family day out. The village of Bolton Abbey is a mere 5-minute walk from the site and has several small cafes and a village shop. If you are heading slightly further out the nearby town of Skipton has wonderful, cafes/pubs and a mix of independent and high-street shops.

Stargazing: The Yorkshire Dales National Park is one of the UK's designated Dark Skies areas. Catgill Farm is on the borders of this national park and is located well away from high-light emission areas meaning it truly is a star gazers paradise.

Shop: No matter how hard you try to remember, there is always something that is forgotten, don't worry, there is a little shop at reception with some key essentials.

Catgill Farm is also home to a 5 star campsite! Choose between electric or non-electric pitches all within easy reach of 2 large, high-quality toilet and shower blocks with plenty of hot water and a kitchen wash-up area with 3 communal fridge freezers. If you have chosen the non-electric pitches then choosing your pitch is all part of the fun and wherever you choose you will be sure of an amazing view. The electric pitches are pre-booked and are located in some of the best parts of the campsite. Keep warm and toasty around the fire pit (available to hire from the reception) while the children spend hours burning their energy in the playing field or exploring the small stream and woodland that flows through the campsite. A natural and safe playground, this campsite is perfect for families and is dog-friendly too.

Free car parking spaces are located approximately 50 metres from the pods and bell tents.

There is a bus service that is operated by Dales Bus that stops at Bolton Abbey. It runs from Ilkley to Grassington. The bus stop is around a 10-minute walk away.

The nearest train stations are Ilkley and Skipton which are both around 15 minutes drive.
