Walmer Castle & Gardens

Explore the wonders of Walmer Castle Gardens The Walmer Castle Gardens hold much horticultural and historical interest. The moat that once surrounded the fort has been grassed over since the 19th century and now hosts a wide variety of flowers and other greenery. Enjoy a commemorative lawn, woodland walk, croquet lawn and working kitchen garden, as well as a vast double herbaceous border flanked by mature yew hedges. See the delightful Queen Mother´s garden, which was designed by Penelope Hobhouse for her majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother´s 95th birthday. The remainder of the grounds are mainly wildlife garden and are a great place to spot birds.
