Stephens House is a hidden gem in the heart of Finchley, North London, with excellent transport links to the rest of the city and beyond. This unique historic house stands in stunning landscaped gardens once owned by the Bishop of London .

Stephens House is a licensed venue for ceremonies and with a range of rooms to choose from it can cater for any kind of event, from intimate fine dining to a lavish buffet reception.

The elegant Dining Room has a truly Victorian feel and can host up to 30 guests.

The Drawing Room is the grandest room in the house and suitable for larger ceremonies or receptions with a maximum of 80 people.

The Salon's beautiful bay windows provide stunning views over the gardens and give the room a bright and airy feel. It can be booked on its own for 35 people or with the Drawing Room to accommodate 110 guests in total.

As well as providing an in-house catering service, we can accommodate external caterers including kosher catering providers by arrangement.

The Gardens

The Gardens provide a mixed landscape and include a unique arboretum, a rockery, a bog garden, large park areas to play in and wooded areas to walk. They are a green oasis in suburban London.

We also have a wonderful newly refurbished children's play ground for children up to 14 years old .

Dog Friendly: Dogs Permitted (Dogs must be kept on a fixed length lead (max 2 metres) on the paths surrounding the lower green and on the terrace. Long. Dogs are not permitted on the lower green, in the children’s playground or in the pond)
Location: There are numerous ways to get to Stephens House and Gardens, we recommend you travel by public transport as there is limited parking on site. On Foot There are four entrances, one located in each corner of the gardens. By Bike You can cycle to any of the four entrances, but please note we do not allow cycling in the south west part of the gardens, and currently have no secure cycle 'lock up' stands. By Bus Buses 82, 125, 143, 460 and 326 stop nearby. By Underground The nearest underground station is Finchley Central on the High Barnet Branch of the Northern Line. On leaving the station walk up to Regents Park Road, turn left and, at the A504 junction, turn left again into East End Road. The house is on the left hand side. By Car From North Circular Road (A406): Leave at the junction with the A598, Regents Park Road (Henlys Corner) towards Finchley. At the first major set of traffic lights turn right into East End Road (A504 - signposted East Finchley). The car park entrance via Hertford Lodge is on the left. From Finchley Church End: Follow Regents Park Road (A598) towards North Circular (A406), turn left into East End Road (A504 -signposted East Finchley). Stephens House & Gardens is on the left hand side of the road. Limited car parking is available at the House and on roads nearby. There is a large car park at Finchley Central Station.
