Walk through a series of majestic gardens, each with its own distinctive charm. The gardens impress at every season, from the classic parterre with its ever-changing floral displays to the statuary and topiary in the Long Greenhouse. With miles of walks to explore, formal gardens give way to open glades, magnificent woodland and picturesque Thames riverside. It's a special place for families to explore with a play area with a storybook theme, a huge labyrinth and plenty of room to run around..

Previously home to the Astor family, the Cliveden National Trust has beautiful gardens overlooking the Berkshire Thames

What can guests enjoy at Cliveden National Trust?

Scenic glades, tree-lined roads and picturesque riverside with miles of woodland walks to be found give way to the formal gardens.

The building is now a luxury hotel but from March to the end of October (timed ticket required) you can take a look inside by joining a short guided tour on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

The Storybook Play Den invites younger visitors to run wild while you play among the wooden carvings of favourite characters in the storybook while the 500 metres of winding paths in the Cliveden Maze make it a challenge for all ages to locate the middle.

Two miles north of Taplow. Leave the M4 at exit 7 onto the A4, or the M40 at exit 4 onto the A404 to Marlow and follow the brown tourist signs. Entrance by the main gates opposite the Feathers Inn.
