Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens

The Belsay Hall comprises three distinct but related elements: a medieval castle that was enlarged in the early 17th century, a Greek Revival mansion that superseded it as a family residence at the beginning of the 19th century, and an outstanding garden linking the two buildings. A mix of eclectic architecture Belsay Hall is a stately home like no other, explore the great room of the ruined medieval castle on the site and clamber to the top of the tower for lovely Northumberland views. Although the house is unfurnished, the Library still retains its original marble fireplace and lovely plasterwork – both paeans to an age of master craftsmanship.
