Overview

Tubbs Mill House is a three hundred year old mill house set in a designated area of outstanding beauty in a quiet, secluded valley yet only one mile from Portmellon Cove which is a beautiful sandy beach, a perfect place to spend the day.

The 5 Star B&B has featured in Period Living and House Beautiful magazine and offers two very well-appointed bedrooms and bathrooms together with a peaceful drawing room and garden.

Tubbs Mill B&B is close to the coastal path and many sandy beaches, it is only a few miles from the towns of Mevagissey, Truro and St Austell, making it the ideal base to explore the lanes and countryside of Cornwall. Roseland Peninsula, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the World famous Eden Project are only a few miles away. You can also explore many fine old English stately homes and enjoy some of Cornwalls best beaches.

History

Tubbs Mill has an interesting history and was tied in with The Caerhays Estate which is on the property's doorstep and now holds The National Magnolia Collection and is well worth seeing.  When the property moved into Tubbs Mill House was a ruin and the property have restored it with a lot of hard work.

Breakfast is included in your room price and all food is home cooked including fresh bread and eggs from the owner's chickens. Breakfasts are freshly prepared using local and organic produce bought from local farms and not supermarkets. There is also tea, coffee, herb teas, fruit and biscuits available throughout the day and you are free to come in and out as you please.

For those who wish to eat out, there is a very good selection of pubs and restaurants, some by the sea and some set in the countryside and the owners will be happy to give local information and directions.
