100%

I highly recommend this luxury BB. It was part of my birthday treat from my husband and we both were blown away by the quality.
Our room was totally lovely and thanks to the host's exceptional eye for detail it had everything (and to a high standard). Included in our room: homemade shortbread, sachets of decaf coffee and caffeine coffee, hot chocolate, every kind of tea, the best-stocked complimentary fridge I've ever come across (two artisan chocolates in a little box, elderflower & ginger cordial, Ribena cordial, water, kit-kat, orange club biscuit, a mini bottle of white wine and red wine)
The bed was very comfy with high-quality duvet and pillows. Sleeping was easy.
The bathroom was perfectly formed. The handwash had a lovely perfume which lingered and was a delight to smell. The bath bubbles, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body moisturizer were of a high quality and lovely to use.
On arrival, we were greeted by Louise who was welcoming and invited us to take tea and complimentary cake downstairs in the guest area. David had baked a huge victoria sponge cake which we helped ourselves to as it was so inviting (and tasted great). I didn't have room to try the seeded flapjack!
Breakfast was first class and everything cooked to order once we sat down at our table (none of this order the night before stuff!). I started with some fresh fruit salad with natural yogurt, orange juice, freshly made coffee then I had smoked salmon and scrambled egg on freshly baked bread/toast. The presentation was lovely and it also tasted amazing. I had to try the homemade jams as they looked delicious (they were, so we bought two jars) and I cut myself a big slice of bread from the freshly made loaf that was set out on the sideboard.
Both David and Louise are friendly hosts without being intrusive. We loved staying here and found it value for money. I can't wait for another reason to stay again. I'm not surprised they have just been awarded the best BB in England. They are outstanding.

100%

This was our third stay at this wonderful B and B and it won't be our last. The three bedrooms are superb, spacious, very comfortable and spotless. We have never had better breakfasts anywhere and the choices would cover everybody what ever their dietary needs. When you return from whatever you have been doing during the day, there is always freshly baked cake in the dining room, delicious. Louise and David have just won an award for the best B and B in England and it is so justly deserved. Well done!

This was our second visit to the Old Town Hall. Louise and David were our ever attentive hosts and we had a super 3 night stay. The room was excellent and the attention to detail went beyond ones expectations. Afternoon tea and cake were most welcome along with a welcoming open fire. The breakfast choice was superb and the food was of a very high quality.

We felt completely spoilt and relaxed from the moment we arrived to when we left.

Thank you Louise and David. We will return

We stayed for 3 nights and loved every minute. From the high quality furnishings, comfortable bed, sumptuous towels to the beautiful complimentary toiletries. The double spa and shower were very welcome after a hard day walking in the dales. Louise and David are excellent hosts and their attention to detail is what makes The Old Town Hall such a special place to stay. Thank you so much and we will look forward to seeing you again :-)

A truly beautiful, house to stay in.
Luxurious, comfortable and cosy, finished off by lovely caring, friendly and helpful hosts.
Extra treats provided (of which there was an abundance) and breakfasts were exceptional.
A delightful stay, thank you.

Tips for other travelers
Visits are plentiful in this stunning scenic area.
Too many to write about.
Lots of leaflets in B and B.
Hosts have good local knowledge to help plan trips and give advice.
Leyburn, Richmond have well stocked and varied shops.
Lovely long walks or short strolls in the area,
Great grub at Bolton Arms and just a short stroll away.

Go on treat yourselves you won’t regret it.
We stayed for 2 nights and I have to say that the attention to detail is what makes this a 5 star B&B right in the heart of Wensleydale. Whether it is the freshly baked cake on arrival, roaring fire in the lounge, sweets beside the visitors' book, candles beside the bath, wine and biscuits in our room or the freshly baked bread at breakfast, this is an outstanding B&B with friendly and genial hosts, Louise and David who took a genuine interest in making our stay as comfortable as possible. No point looking elsewhere. Go on, treat yourselves. You won't regret it.
