Summary

Room For Two offers luxurious accommodation in a beautifully converted stable. Guests can enjoy the spacious open plan living space, as well as two outdoor terraces with views across the Sussex countryside. Offering delicious breakfast options and complete privacy, the B&B has become a favourite place for many of its returning guests from all over the UK and further afield.

What makes a stay at Room for Two unique?

Set at the bottom of the garden from the main house, the B&B offers guests complete privacy to its guests. With not one, but two outdoor private terraces, the spectacular views can be enjoyed over breakfast, or even a glass of wine in the evening before heading out.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at Room for Two?

Room for Two offers a spacious open plan living area with a super king size bed (which can be made into a twin on request), breakfast table and a mini kitchenette with a well stocked fridge, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. There is also a flat screen TV and WiFi. The bathroom offers a bath with shower, dressing gowns, towels, slippers (not that you'll need them with the underfloor heating!) and even an 'emergency drawer' containing any bits you may have forgotten, such as a sewing kit and toothpaste.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Rushlake Green area?

There are plenty of attractions and places to visit within a short distance of Room for Two. A folder of things to do and places to visit in the local area, as well as a list of tried and tested pubs and restaurants is provided in the room. There is no lack of historical sights in the area, beautiful towns and villages, country walks and even the beach is within a 20 minute drive of the B&B.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

There are some fantastic pubs and restaurants within driving distance of Room for Two. Sara is always happy to provide recommendations (there is also a folder in the room) or help with booking a table or getting a taxi for you. In the B&B itself the fridge is always stocked with everything you need for a delicious continental style breakfast, including granola, fruits and fresh bread but Sara also offers a home cooked breakfast, which you can order the night before and she'll bring it across from the main house at an agreed time.

Other information

Based in the heart of rural East Sussex, there are plenty of fantastic walks that can be done from the B&B. There are footpath maps for the local walks in the room, but you are also in easy access of the South Downs and the coastal walks of the National Trails England Coast Path.

This is the perfect oasis, reached after a scenic drive via Tunbridge Wells from London, in the beautiful Weald. Had a wonderful stay over August bank hols and Sara was the perfect host. All the small but 'nice to have' details have been taken care of - great room and breakfast down to a coffee frother, heated bathroom mirrors and even a torch so that you can find your way home from the nearest pub as we did. I am sure we'll be back soon to this perfect city getaway ! Chris and Julie Ps Great scrambled eggs too.

A really fantastic private room, in the garden with its own patio and views out into nature. The room itself is a large airy space with plenty of room for 2! It has been built to a very high standard: the decor and fittings are top notch, and the hosts have thought of all the details when it comes to providing everything you might want when staying away for a short break. Sara is a welcoming and excellent host too. Simply outstanding.

Sara is a very welcoming, communicative, helpful host. Her converted barn is in a stunning spot that was perfect for our weekend getaway from the city. It's incredibly comfortable, private and quiet with the most wonderful view over the Sussex countryside. Sara cooks up an exceptional breakfast if ordered in advance which is a great bonus! Very much recommended!

An absolutely beautiful room with gorgeous garden and surrounding countryside. A hidden gem! We feel very lucky to have stayed here. Sara and Patrick were the perfect hosts and they really had thought of everything. The breakfast with all its thoughtful additions was generous and delicious. The room is 5*, comfortable and relaxing with luxury en suite bathroom. Book immediately, but not when we want to return!

Sara was very friendly & welcoming on arrival showing us to the self contained accommodation. It was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean with lovely touches such as fluffy towels, dressing gowns, luxurious bedding & a well stocked fridge. There was a private patio seating area with stunning views. It was peaceful, relaxing and we felt like we were staying in a top quality hotel.

Perfect! We had a wonderful stay. Sara is very thoughtful and welcoming, and provided everything for a 5 star experience. The accommodation is superb - comfortable, stylish, immaculate...luxurious! I could go on! We have already recommended it to friends in London for the perfect weekend escape. Thank you so much and planning to return.

An absolutely idyllic spot, we really didn't want to leave! We were looking for a bolthole for the weekend and from the start, Sara was incredibly helpful and welcoming. She provided us with information on local attractions and most importantly, where to eat... We really enjoyed The Black Duck's garden and The Lamb's food, but nothing beat cooked breakfasts on the patio outside the room.

The room itself is private and immaculate. We really appreciated the additional touches, like a drawer full of the things I always forget to pack (toothpaste/hairdryer etc.), a stocked fridge and Nespresso machine. The bed is huge and comfortable - much needed after a day of walking the Seven Sisters. A real surprise for us was the a large wild flower garden on one side of the room and rolling hills on the other. So peaceful - don't hesitate to book.

We just loved this place. The room is very big and spacious, as per the photos. So is the bathroom - and there is also a bath, so often one just finds tiny showers now! Moreover, as you are quite separate from the house it has a feeling of being self catering (although it isn't). The room is very tastefully decorated as well. There is a small fridge with all DIY breakfast items, and of course you can get a lovely cooked breakfast (good products, not greasy) as well - this is delivered to the room. Everything is high quality. The view from all windows is of rolling countryside and a few sheep. If you are lucky, you can also meet the dog, a very well mannered labrador. We loved having the opportunity to talk to Sara and her husband, who were really helpful too. The room is separate from the house. We went to the local pub in the nearby village (a bit too far too walk back if you are drinking, however, although just about doable) which was good, and enjoyed walking in the local countryside. Bodiam Castle is about 45 minutes away. Just check on directions for getting there before you leave, as it is along small country lanes. We would highly recommend (in fact, I already have to a friend) and hope to return ourselves one day. A wonderful retreat.

Sara and Patrick offer an idyllic retreat that is perfect in all respects: private rural location, superior comfort and a great welcome.

The room has a fridge stocked with useful provisions, fruit and there was even a delicious lemon cake for tea!

If you enjoy a cooked breakfast then make sure you walk in the fields beforehand to do this justice (fresh eggs courtesy of the garden chickens).

Lovely large bathroom with plenty of fluffy towels and robes; very comfortable large bed.

There are some good pubs and restaurants within a short driving distance.

Beautifully presented in all aspects - our best B&B ever and would award more stars if possible!

I really couldn't recommend this place highly enough. My partner and I stay in bed and breakfasts a lot and agree that this is our best experience ever. The extremely large bed, bathrobes, immaculate cleanliness and breakfasts brought to the room make it feel like 5 star luxury, so that it is extremely difficult to leave! We have already decided that we will be booking to come back for a weekend before we get married next year. Wonderful, can't recommend highly enough.

The host could not have been more welcoming, in fact I felt that she genuinely enjoyed making us comfortable, a great quality in a host.

There are lovely views from the terrace and we ate our breakfast out twice which was lovely.

Sara was very flexible in accommodating our needs: we had a small dog who slept in the car and stayed out in the courtyard.
She made sure there were could walking maps for us and recommended beaches for swimming.

Sara made us feel so welcome all the time we stayed with her and Patrick. The b&b is exemplary - beautifully furnished, every need catered for, delicious breakfast, wonderfully comfortable bed and all set in the most delightful countryside. One of the windows looks directly out on to a wildflower meadow - what could be more relaxing and inspirational. We have stayed in many b&bs but this has to be the best one ever. I wish Sara and Patrick every happiness in their venture.

Sara took such good care of us. We were made to feel extremely welcome and she gave us a lot of help with the directions to the property. It is a wonderful place to stay. It is self contained and the views are superb. They had thought of everything. It was truly a comfortable and wonderful place to stay and I will be recommending this place to lots of people. The bed was luxuriously huge and the place had all the creature comforts you need. Sara even very kindly posted us back a pair of trousers we left in the room. They also very kindly recommended places to eat and helped us book a table too. We had a wonderful 2 days and hope to be back someday. Wonderful hosts and and a real find.

The communication from Sara in the week or so prior to our stay was very good. Sara was incredibly welcoming and the location is gorgeous. The cabin is secluded and peaceful and decorated beautifully. The food was fabulous and eating breakfast outside to the sounds of birds and sheep and the occasional bee shouldering his way through the long grass was perfect. I hope you are lucky enough to get a little visit from their Black Labrador Max, because he is lovely.

This little place turned out to be such a delicious little find that we intend to make it a monthly treat.

This is 5 star accommodation in the gorgeous High Weald countryside! The converted stable has a separate entrance and in good weather you can sit on the patio and enjoy the amazing views. The room was extremely comfortable and quiet, the bed huge and luxurious, and the breakfast, generous and delicious. Coffee addicts are well catered for with a Nespresso machine.

Sara and Patrick are wonderful hosts, thoughtful, welcoming and friendly, and offer great advice on local pubs and walks. And if you'd like the company of dogs while you walk, they have two very sweet labradors who would love to join you.

This is a wonderful place to stay if you're looking for some peace and quiet in the beautiful E. Sussex countryside. I'd thoroughly recommend it!

I cannot be more positive about this place and our stay there - I highly recommend it and we look forward to staying there again one of these days.
