It is river-side living, quite literally, at Mill Ford House B&B, Fakenham, where you can hear the rushing of the Old Sculthorpe Mill as you drift off to sleep in the spacious lodge. The lodge is situated at the end of the garden of owners Alexandra and Joanathan Fryer who have converted it into a luxurious self-contained unit with kitchenette, living area and bedroom complete with outside seating area from which to take in the rural idyll which surrounds you.
Tell us more about the rooms and facilities at Mill Ford House?
The Lodge stands alongside the river, with a lawned area at the front. It has one large King-sized bed, with an en-suite shower room. The lodge comes complete with central heating, internet access on request, a flat-screened TV, a kitchen and dining area with a fridge and coffee and tea making facilities. Outside there is a decking area, garden and outside Bistro table and chairs.
Can you suggest any activities or things to do while staying in the Fakenham area?
If you enjoy sailing, fishing, water sports or simply enjoy playing with a bucket and spade, there are several fantastic beaches nearby. Including; Holkham, Brancaster , Wells next-to-sea and Hunstanton to name a few. If you enjoy bird watching you can pick between nearby RSPB Reserves Snettisham or Titchwell. A few hundred metres from the Riverside Lodge are the Hawk and Owls Trust Reserve & Sculthorpe Lawn. Great shopping can be found at Burnham Market and Holt . Both have their own great range of boutique shops, restaurants, cafés and art galleries.
Where can guests enjoy food and drink?
Breakfast at Mill Ford House consists of a wide variety of cereals, fruit juice, yoghurt, fresh fruit, bread and croissants and jams and jellies. If you would prefer a cooked full English breakfast, this can be available on request. If you enjoy cooking your own breakfast, you can do so in the kitchenette at your own leisure. Sculthorpe Mill Pub is just a 2-minute walk away if you would like a decent pub lunch or dinner.
