Built by the Duke of Argyll in 1870, Dungallan Country House is perched to benefit from uninterrupted views which take in the islands. The wraparound patio is the ideal place to enjoy a drink, soaking up the views and listening to the sounds of the water fountain.
Managed by husband and wife team, the emphasis is on a personal, yet unobtrusive service. The bar offers over 160 varieties of whisky in addition to a growing collection of Scottish island gins. There is also a selection of wines, Champagne and bottled ales. Complimentary tea and coffee is available to enjoy in the lounge bar, library or on the patio.
The house is available for exclusive use hire, be it a family get together or wedding. With complimentary use of the marquee, there are options to suit everyone.
Homemade afternoon teas are available to pre book. Served on a 3 tier cake stand, all the delicacies are homemade on site.

Dungallan Country House completed an extensive, 2 phase refurbishment in early 2023. The house has 11 rooms in total, made up of 3 standard rooms, 4 deluxe rooms, 3 suites and 1 honeymoon suite complete with its own private sauna.
All the rooms are en-suite; the standard rooms and deluxe rooms all benefit from walk in showers whilst the suites boast an additional roll top bath.
Which ever room guests choose for their stay, they can enjoy soft fluffy embroidered bathrobes, slippers, flat screen Smart TV, a mini fridge with complimentary still and sparkling water as well as a small glass bottle of fresh milk. The tea trays offer Brodies of Edinburgh tea, coffee and shortbread with the addition of Taylors ground coffee and cafetiere, chocolate biscuits and homemade tablet on arrival. The suites have an additional complimentary decanter of whisky.
Can you suggest any activities or things to do while staying in the Oban area?
Oban is a hive of activity during the summer months and is well known for being the Gateway to the Isles. With numerous ferries allowing guests to island hop in addition to local boat trips, it's a great base for exploring.
The town is also conveniently placed for guests wishing to explore parts of the highlands including Glencoe and the famous Harry Potter train within driving distance.
With various boat trip options, distillery tours, guides offering castle trips and wildlife spotting, there is something to suit everyone.
Where can guests enjoy food and drink?
Having received a Visit Scotland taste award in 2022, Dungallan Country House offers guests a home cooked breakfast covering options for vegan, dairy free, gluten free and vegetarian. There is also a continental option which includes cereals, flavoured yoghurts, natural yoghurts, a fresh fruit bowl, bread rolls, a selection of cold meats, cheeses and various fruit juices.
