Allerdale House is a generously proportioned boutique guest house situated in Keswick in the north of the English Lake District. It offers 5 ensuite kingsize and super kingsize rooms, 3 with baths, in a spacious Victorian building on a quiet corner plot 5 minutes walk from town.
What makes a stay at Allerdale House unique?
The house is entirely separate from the owner's accommodation and functions more like a small hotel; so you won't bump into the owners on the stairs! Each room has been individually designed, decorated and furnished, much of it by the owners themselves, and has a quirky sense of style throughout. Customer service is personable, friendly and helpful; the owners are from Keswick and have a wealth of knowledge of the local area and the attractions it offers.

Can you suggest any activities or things to do while staying in the Keswick area?
Keswick is both a bustling little Lakeland town with a huge range of eateries and drinking spots and also the centre of the Northern Lake District. Numerous walking opportunities lie within walking distance of the front door; the Lake is a ten-minute walk and the town five. Over 30 food and drink establishments serve the town and visitors extremely well, alongside a theatre, two-screen cinema, brewery, several museums, and multiple live music venues.
Where can guests enjoy food and drink?
Breakfast is a varied and filling affair - guests can choose from all the standard Cumbrian breakfast items including local butcher-made sausages and dry-cured bacon, and free-range eggs direct from the farm in Embleton, 10 miles up the road. Vegans and Vegetarians are catered for with homemade Glamorgan sausages and Vegan Haggis, and a range of homemade cakes are on offer all day, every day. Coffee and loose-leaf tea come from the UK's oldest coffee roasters - Farrer's in Kendal - and coffee is freshly ground every morning. Alternatives are available in the form of omlettes, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, and Scottish smoked salmon. All dietary specialisms are happily catered for. A wide range of options are also on offer in town and the surrounding area - from budget pub meals to Michelin starred restaurants.
