Wendy and Neil built their farmhouse on the family farm, and they are proud to share Alkham Court, its garden and the surrounding countryside. Guests can relax in the indoor hot tub and sauna before retreating to the Oak Room to cosy up in front of the woodstove or read a good book. The tasty farmhouse breakfasts are cooked on the range, using local produce to give guests the taste of Kent. Great location to enjoy country walks, local horse riding, Dover Castle and famous white cliffs and just a 20 minute drive to the historic city of Canterbury.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at Alkham Court Farmhouse?

Alkham Court has 4 luxury ensuite country-style bedrooms, offering a stylish, unique and relaxing retreat for guests. Twin rooms can be made available upon request. Robes, slippers and towels are provided for the hot tub and sauna.  Each room has quality radios and flat-screen televisions with DVD players. There are fresh flowers, a fridge with fresh milk, a Nespresso coffee machine and an excellent choice of drinks, including still and sparkling water.  Ground floor rooms available with direct access to the grounds. Plenty of parking available at the farmhouse. 

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Dover area?

Alkham Court is a short 10 minute drive from the famous White Cliffs of Dover and the town's historic castle. There are numerous walks in the local countryside around Alkham Court, with horse riding available nearby to enjoy the beautiful valley. Guests can walk around the farm, see the lambs in the spring, enjoy the hay fields in the summer and see the horses in their stables in the winter. Close by, there are pretty gardens, historic castles and a varied coastline, with cliff top walks and sandy beaches to explore. The cathedral city of Canterbury is just 20 minutes' drive away.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Alkham Court is ideally located between Folkestone and Dover, with a choice of restaurants within easy reach. Nearby, there are tea rooms, country pubs and award-winning restaurants. The hospitality is exceptional, it is a nice quiet place. The food is really nice and fresh. The rooms are spacious. The Spa experience is very personalised you are not with other guests at the same time.

By Car: FROM THE FERRIES: On leaving the Port of Dover follow signs to LONDON M20. After the last roundabout continue along the A20 (M20) towards London, then take 2nd exit (Canterbury/Folkestone to A260) and at the roundabout (distance from docks 6 miles (10km) follow signs to Alkham. After 2 miles (3Km) Meggett Lane is 2nd on right and Alkham Court is on the right just before the top of the hill. FROM M20 LONDON/EUROTUNNEL: Follow signs towards Dover past Junction 13 where M20 joins A20, drive through the tunnels and then immediate exit direction A260 Canterbury/Folkestone. Turn left at roundabout, back over the motorway, then turn left again following signs to Alkham. Proceed down the Alkham Valley road for approximately 2 miles (3Km), turn right into Meggett Lane and Alkham Court is on the right just before the top of the hill. FROM M2/A2: Follow signs for Dover. When you reach a roundabout with McDonald's on your left, take the 4th exit (Dover North/River and Temple Ewell). At the next roundabout take 2nd exit (River, Temple Ewell) then after 100 metres turn left to Alkham. Go through the village of Alkham then turn left after the garden centre into Meggett Lane and Alkham Court is on the right before the top of the hill. By Train: Trains from London Charing Cross – Folkestone Central are every 30 minutes at peak times and with the High Speed Train from – St Pancras International Station to Folkestone Central journey times are now only 55 minutes away. At Folkestone Central Station there is a taxi rank just outside the main entrance or a short walk towards Kingsnorth Garden where there is also another taxi rank.
