If we said this was an utterly wizard attraction, we'd expect a groan or two but really, this is one British attraction that you shouldn't miss. The utter top quality of Ms Rowling's Harry Potter books carries through to the Hertfordshire studios where the movies depicting them were filmed and the result is at least three hours of fascinating stuff. After an initial cinematic introduction to the studios by none other than Harry, Hermione and Ron Weasley, visitors are led into the Great Hall, site of many a magical scene in the films and from there onto the various sets including Dumbledore's office, Diagon Alley, the Ministry of Magic, Hagrid's hut, the Gryffindor common room, the dormitory where Harry slept and the Weasley kitchen. Everything on show (and there are literally thousands of props, masks and costumes) has been used in the films, eliciting gasps of recognition from children and adults alike. You'll learn how the directors achieved the magical effects they did, get the chance to fly across London on a broom (and get a great snap of it, of course) and you can even take a master class in wand combat. Simply wonderful.
