Discover the rich history, myths and legends that surrounds Tintagel, a castle inexplicitly linked to King Authur. The 13th century castle ruins that sits at the top of the hundred or so steps that lead up the cliff-face is a sight to behold, especially when you consider its site's connections with Arthur (he is said to have been conceived here) and Merlin (legend says his cave was on the beach below – access is free here). Up on the summit, kids can sit and complete their activity sheets handed to them by staff at the entrance while adults inhale the bracing Cornish air and admire the spectacular summit views.
