Details on what activities are available at Macduff Marine Aquarium?

The aquarium's exhibits lead visitors to discover amazing sea creatures that are at home in the Moray Firth's waters. Get up close to hundreds of fishy characters of all shapes, colours and sizes, and find out how they survive - from the seashore to the murky depths. Feeding shows and presentations change daily, but one can watch divers feeding the fish, discover the shark nursery, explore the touch pools, see the octopus feeding and take in other presentations throughout the day. Grab a fish finder and a quiz to help find out more! Bring your shoal for fun learning programmes (with free teachers' resources). The gift shop is full of treasures for every pocket.

Things to do in the local area?

Enjoy the fabulous scenery of the Banffshire coast, including long sandy beaches and the fishing villages of Crovie, Whitehills Portsoy and Sandend, all within half an hour's drive of the aquarium. Look out for dolphins and other sea-life from the shore. The RSPB reserve at Troup Head is a stunning cliff-top spot to watch seabirds. Don't forget to stop for an ice cream! Duff House in Banff is an art-lover's delight, while golfers have a choice of two royal courses and the Myrus driving range in Macduff. Boyndie Visitors Centre near Whitehills is great for retail, gardens and food, or visit the famous 'Spotty Bag Shop' in Banff.

Reviews

A really lovely place to visit. The giant aquarium with divers was amazing. Very educational too and staff very knowledgeable , patient and helpful to customers. Appear to be very passionate about their creatures. Touch pool very interesting with great informative talks on the sea creatures and the environment. A lovely few hours spent here and would definitely visit again. If we lived nearby we would buy an annual pass..
