North West of Southampton, close to Eastleigh, you can find Go Ape in the heart of Itchen Valley Country Park. The Hampshire location plays host to two of Go Ape's high ropes experiences plus axe throwing. The location is just off Allington
Lane - close to Southampton airport. Whether you're looking for things to do nearby with the kids or a day out with friends, the adventure is covered. Treetop Adventure is a one hour experience aimed at kids and young families. Treetop Challenge is for those over 1.4 metres tall and is 2-3 hours of high wire obstacles, Tarzan Swings and ziplines. Things to do in the local area?

Explore the 440 acres of stunning water meadows, woodland, and meadows along the River Itchen in the vicinity of Go Ape Southampton in Itchen Valley Country Park. Two play areas, an animal-sculptured Play Trail, a variety of trails, including the Keepers Trail and Nature Detective Trail, and orienteering courses are also available at the park. There are also frequent kid-friendly events held at the park. You can have a picnic in the park or recharge at the on-site café. It's the centre of Southampton's outdoor family entertainment scene.

  • Footwear must be sturdy and suitable for the outdoors. No sandals, slip off shoes, open toes or heels.
  • Gloves are a good idea. Either bring a pair or you can buy them at the cabin on the day.

By car:

From the West: Exit the M27 at junction 5 and take the 2nd exit on roundabout, signposted Eastleigh A335, then follow brown tourist signs to Itchen Valley Country Park.

From the North: Follow the M3, joining the M27 Eastbound towards Portsmouth. Exit the M27 at junction 5 and take the 2nd exit on the roundabout, then follow the brown tourist signs to Itchen Valley Country Park.

From the East: Exit the M27 at junction 7. From junction 7, take the first exit, signposted Southampton A334, then the 3rd exit at the next roundabout, signposted West End A27, and follow brown tourist signs to Itchen Valley Country Park.

From Southampton: Head towards Southampton Airport. Join the A27 and follow brown tourist signs to Itchen Valley Country Park.

From Eastleigh: Take the A355 to Southampton airport. Follow brown tourist signs to Itchen Valley Country Park, past the airport onto A27.

You'll find Go Ape in the furthest car park. Go Ape's tucked away in the corner!

Coach Parking: £21.00 per day.

It might be worth getting a ticket for over 4 hours on busy days at Go Ape (usually weekends), your adventure may take a little longer than usual.

By train:

Southampton Airport parkway is the nearest train station, next to the airport. From here you can catch the xelabus X4 Towards West End. Get off the bus just after passing Haskins garden centre. From here it’s just under a mile walk (about 20 minutes) Continue along the road until you reach the roundabout. Turn left and follow the road until you reach the entrance to the park.

It is possible to walk all the way from the station to the park. It’s approximately three miles and takes about an hour.

A taxi should cost less than £10.

By bus:

The nearest bus stop to Go Ape Itchen Valley is about a 20-minute walk away (less than a mile). If you enter Go Ape's postcode SO30 3HQ into Google maps and select directions via public transport you'll find details of the next available bus service.
