Waterhouse

Waterhouse is an ivy-clad 18th century manor house near Bath that has been the home to a succession of entrepreneurial families who have taken great care of its period features. The result is a beautiful Georgian hotel surrounded by three acres of parkland across which you wouldn’t be surprised to see a dripping Mr Darcy wandering, such is its Sunday-night period drama appeal. The house has been turned into a luxury hotel with nine bedrooms and four suites stuffed with original features (think gleaming wooden floors, wooden shutters, stunning cornicing, Carrara marble and stone fireplaces). There’s a feel from staff here that you are an old friend come to stay rather than an anonymous visitor and guests often remark on being made to feel really at home during a stay at Waterhouse.
