Stone Cottage is an award-winning self-catering holiday retreat situated amongst the famous beauty of the Lake District. The cottage, which sleeps six people, has fabulous views across the valley to the fells beyond. It is full of original features such as old beams and an open fire but with 21st century comforts: oil-fired central heating, two gorgeous bathrooms, a huge architect designed kitchen and many designer touches from Osborne and Little fabrics through to a Bose SoundDock and Broadband connection. The sensitive restoration of this delightful property was a labour of love for the owners (who live nearby and can help organise many little extras for your stay)and through the use of many local materials and the involvement of local artists and craftsman, the property has a real connection with the landscape and area. Helvellyn, Fairfield, High Street and many more great fells can be tackled directly from the cottage. Alternatively take a cruise on Ullswater with the landing stage for the 'steamers' just a 5 minute drive away.
