Ten Places to Stay for Animal Lovers by Kate Simon

"Stay at this cluster of four- and five-star self-catering properties, which sleep two to eight, and you won’t have to roam far to get in some animal action. The five acres of gardens are home to three alpacas, five cats, two dogs, a tree duck, and the chickens who lay the eggs for breakfast, while the two ponds provide playgrounds for more wild ducks."

Ten Places to Stay Near Water by Kate Simon

"Pack the buckets and spades for a holiday at one of these five luxury cottages, sleeping two to seven, on the south coast of Cornwall. There’s lots of fun to be had on and around the water in these parts; the lovely port of Fowey is a short walk away, while further afield lie the beaches at Looe and the quaint fishing village of Polperro."

Review of Penventinue Manor Farm

We have been coming to Penventinue Manor Farm for 12 years! First as a couple with friends who had a young baby, then with friends and our own children and now as a family. PMF caters for all groups wonderfully! The facilities are 5* while still feeling cosy, comfy and family friendly. However, the best thing of all is the amazing welcome we get year after year!

This place is truly amazing! We stayed in Wild Thyme Barn, one of the gorgeous cottages in the grounds of Penventinue Manor Farm. The cottage is beautifully designed with a fabulous interior. Everything has been hand-picked to suit the cottage. A lovely cosy wood burner in the front room, with a huge 4 poster bed with huge cushions in the bedroom. The cottage was so lovely that I could live there forever! Absolutely loved it, loved Fowey, loved the chickens roaming around and loved the alpacas in the field. Louise met us on arrival with her friendly cheery manner and checked that we settled in ok, gave us the low down on the local area, places to visit, things to do. She was wonderful. This was one of the best weekends that I have had away and will definitely be returning to Penventinue Manor Farm in the very near future!

Review of Penventinue Manor Farm

I was looking for somewhere to stay in Cornwall that wasn't as restrictive as a hotel but with the same high quality I expect, and in a good location. I have found in the past that pictures on websites tend to highlight the 'better aspects' of locations but this is certainly not the case at Penventinue. We stayed in Thyme Cottage, an idyllic 1 bedroom cottage finished to the highest standard boasting a very modern, but at the same time characteristic, interior. There is a secluded garden to the right of the cottage, perfect for evening barbeques, with a large patio and outside dining area accessed through double french doors to the front. The living space is open planned with a cosy log burning fire and a perfectly sized kitchen, equipped with everything you could possibly need! The welcome pack and personal letter on arrival was a wonderful touch... Particularly the freshly laid eggs from the farm hens! Although the cottages are in close proximity the aspects mean you are not overlooked and have plenty of privacy. Louise was fantastic and always available for even the smallest of requests. I cannot recommend Penventinue enough. Its fantastic location, perfect accommodation and wonderful hospitality make it the perfect destination.
