The Fox & Barrel, Foxbank, Tarporley, Cheshire

The Fox and Barrel has been lovingly restored in recent years and the huge open log fire is back in use, and new oak flooring leads onto an attractive landscaped beer garden with fantastic views of the Cheshire countryside. It's a fine country pub and restaurant, with characterful interior complete with traditional exposed beams offering a wide range of beers, well-kept cask ales and wines as well as good portions of food made from high quality, fresh ingredients. The Fox and Barrel does a cracking Sunday roast with all the trimmings and a selection of starters, sandwiches, side orders and main meals like pan fried cod loin, herb-crushed new potatoes with peas and bacon or pot roasted rump of lamb, sticky lentils and winter vegetables.
