The Bay Horse has been sympathetically refurbished to maintain the charm of a period English pub whilst including some elegant touches such as the brocade fabric used to upholster the chairs. Guests can relax on the leather banquettes in the bar before their meal while they enjoy a pint of local ale. The menu promises comforting pub grub but delivers expertly prepared and presented fare befitting a top quality restaurant. Starters could include French black pudding with an apple and onion beignet, mushroom ketchup, tomato chutney and devilled sauce. Stuffed saddle of rabbit wrapped in Parma ham with a Toulouse sausage roll, mustard jus and buttered greens could follow with Eton mess parfait with shortbread and autumn berry compote to finish.
