The Allotment

The Allotment bistro is an interesting concept for a restaurant that should be applauded and involves local producers big and small to source quality produce to create home cooked, fuss free food. As well as having direct relationship with small local producers, the restaurant has its own allotment, hence the name, and encourages other allotmenteers to bring in their excess vegetables and rewards them with free wine or meals in the restaurant. The menu changes regularly depending on season and what’s available. The wine list is straight-forward with a house wine at £15 per bottle and flat rate of £19 per bottle for all other wines. The Allotment has a pretty, secluded courtyard garden planted with flowers and herbs offering respite from the bustling high street.
