Sketch, 9 Conduit Street, London, London

Algerian restaurateur, Mourad Mozouz of Momo fame let his imagination run free in the creation of the surreal, sumptuous Sketch, set over two floors of an 18th Century building. It houses a restaurant, cafe, tea room and bar and enjoys quirky features like egg-shaped toilet cubicles and door handles shaped like women’s legs. The Lecture Room and Library is overseen by French culinary legend Pierre Gagnaire and serves opulent French haute cuisine. It has a startling bright orange and gold colour scheme with tie dye effect silk walls, concave mirrors, lavishly upholstered armchairs and statement lampshades. The food is technically adept and visually stunning and includes intricate dishes like langoustines addressed five ways and roast duck fillet, poached peach, pistachio crumble and rocket gnocchi.
