Twice voted ‘Midlands Restaurant of the Year’, Perkins has a reputation as both a popular local restaurant and one that Nottingham city folk happily make the journey for. Housed in a former railway station, the Perkins family, aided by head chef Sarah Newham, have been turning out popular French inspired bistro dishes since 1982. More recently the team has introduced an on-site smokehouse and undertaken a complete refurbishment, which has brought about the addition of a chef’s table and private dining room (housed in the original station waiting room). With it comes a flexible menu, including ‘Perkins Sleepers’ sharing taster platters, accompanied by a well conceived drinks list featuring a good selection of wines by the carafe, inventive cocktails and over 30 malt whiskies.
