This hidden gem is nestled in an unimposing suburban high street four miles from the centre of Sheffield. The orange and aubergine colour scheme, dark wooden furniture and room dividers provide a retro 1970s feel which makes the most of the former-shop unit’s space. The friendly, relaxed atmosphere and serious culinary expertise on offer are the real selling points. The menu flits from traditional to more ambitious and international. Indulge in a little of both with fried Indian spiced soft shell crab and spicy plum chutney to start followed by the roast rump of Derbyshire lamb served with sweetbread fritters and finish with the coconut panna cotta served with pineapple and passionfruit salsa, chilli coconut brittle and mango sorbet.
