This cafe/bar and wine shop by day in the centre of the pretty market town of Dolgellau is transformed into a cosy, relaxed bistro by night. The simple blue and bisque decor and wooden tables and chairs provide the backdrop for the honest food served with a smile. The wine list makes impressive viewing considering the compact nature of the restaurant and includes a list of cellar specials. You could start with pork and pink peppercorn terrine with pickled red cabbage. The main event could be a comforting lamb and barley hotpot or perhaps if you fancy something more exotic a Thai fish stew. A sticky fruit and nut brownie could be your reward for dessert perhaps taken with a glass of Touraine late picked Sauvignon.
