The traditional shop front entrance to Piero’s sets the tone for this homely, yet thoroughly authentic, Italian restaurant. The interior is redolent of a local trattoria in Italy and is full of character. Piero and his son Alan produce traditional Italian cuisine whilst using a large range of regional British produce including scallops from the Orkneys and Scottish lobsters. The menu is filled with classic Italian dishes such as starters of Sicilian caponata or melanzane Parmigiana. Fresh pasta is made daily to produce spaghetti al vongole or penne with a veal ragu sauce followed by favourites like osso bucco and misto de mare. Desserts include the famous Sicilian cannoli. There is a good wine list offering, amongst others, a good range of Italian wines.
