Clarke's

Clarkes in something of an institution in the area, and is named after Sally Clarke who for 25 years has been extolling the virtues of seasonal, well sourced produce which has become so fashionable in recent years. Testament to the well sourced ingredients used in the award-winning restaurant, Sally has opened up a shop and bakery connected to the restaurant selling fine deli products. The menu is written twice daily and is distinctly unfussy with seasonal ingredients at the fore like hand rolled pasta ribbons with sprouting broccoli, basil and toasted pinenuts or chargrilled organic Scottish salmon with tarragon hollandaise, yellow bean and English asparagus. The dining room is similarly understated and low key but is the perfect place to catch up with foodie friends.
