A contemporary wine cellar is the inspiration for the decor at Bar Boulud which combines vaulted ceilings and vintage oak, not unlike that used for wine barrels, for the flooring. The food is top New York chef Daniel Boulud’s interpretation of simple French cooking with a liberal dousing of Big Apple flair. The highest quality charcuterie is a house speciality so begin with pâté grand-mère (a fine country pâté of chicken liver, pork and cognac). Mains and desserts such as coq au vin and gateau basque are expertly prepared and exquisitely presented. One of the signature burgers eaten at the bar is one of London's finest culinary treats. There is plenty of choice on the wine list with wines from Burgundy and Rhone featuring prominently.
