This former country pub is now an informal restaurant offering simple, gusty food of excellent quality. The cosy bar and restaurant has a shabby chic style with its assorted mix of comfy chairs and sofas, quarry tiled floor and paintings by local artists. Y Polyn is run by a team who take a serious approach to food but think little of the pretentious flourishes that usually accompany such fine dining. Simple British food which allows the quality of the local, seasonal ingredients to shine through is order of the day, be it carbonnade of Welsh Black beef and Otleys ale, daube of Ferryside salt marsh lamb or a Carmarthenshire fillet steak. Homemade bread is included in the price of a meal, as is filtered water.
