This former stone built farmhouse is now a pub and restaurant. Chef Kevin Viner has added modernity and style to create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The assured and stylish cooking makes a feature of Cornwall’s superb seafood. Start with mussels steamed with Cornish cider; grilled Looe smoked salmon with horseradish cream or Helford crab salad. For a luxurious main course, try the char grilled lobster with fresh herb and lemon butter or chilli and lime dressing. There’s non-fishy options too in the form of shoulder of Cornish lamb with chargrilled vegetables and red wine jus or Gressingham duck breast. Local Menallack farm Cornish cheeses or a wicked Baileys chocolate temptation make a fitting end.
