Tanners Restaurant

A 15 century merchant’s house (the oldest in Plymouth) provides an atmospheric setting for the Tanner brother’s accomplished cooking. TV stars they may be, but they served their time in some of the best kitchens around so you can be assured of a pukka gourmet experience. Rolled terrine of corn-fed chicken, ham hock and foie gras, apple and walnut salad kicks things off in fine classical French style, followed perhaps by an Italian influenced seared fillet of brill, basil noodles and tomato and olive dressing. As the brothers have written a book for chocolate lovers it would be wrong not to indulge in a dark chocolate pecan brownie with white chocolate mousse. Ask for a table in the covered inner courtyard for the full on Medieval experience.
