Morston Hall

With his increasing ubiquity on our TV screens, chef Galton Blackiston could fast be replacing Delia Smith as Norfolk's most well known culinary personality. But you’ll usually find him in the kitchens of this elegant 17th century manor house. The cosy, comfortable dining room is the perfect place for a romantic dinner for two of considered, expert cooking. The four course, no-choice menu might begin with warm chicken and Roquefort mousse and continue through a fish course (perhaps grilled sea bass with sauce vierge) to a meaty main such as fillet of beef on fondant potato with rich beef jus and basil sauce. You can learn some of the chef’s tricks of the trade at residential cookery courses offered at certain times during the year.
