Margot's Bistro

This unassuming bistro in a side street a few yards from Padstow harbour has been packing them in for over a decade. Owner Adrian Oliver flits between the tiny kitchen and the dining room, helping to prepare the food and serving his loyal following of locals, holiday makers and foodies. Fish is as fresh as you would expect from a restaurant in a Cornwall fishing village. Mackerel, caught that day might be simply grilled and served with a cucumber Salad and truffle oil while a ray wing is baked and flavoured with garlic and anchovies. Meat dishes including duck confit and rack of Cornish lamb are equally popular choices. Desserts including sticky toffee pudding and saffron poached pears are worth saving room for.
