Part of a select nationwide group of glamorous, eccentrically designed boutique hotels, Malmaison brasserie offers reasonably priced, modern European cooking right in the city centre. The seasonally changing menu might include a robustly flavoured starter of seared scallops with boudin noir or a more delicate main course of whole lemon sole with tomato relish and coriander butter. Grills include a notable burger and aged steaks from the famous Buccleugh estate. Look out for the Home Grown and Local set lunch and dinner menu that highlights produce from local suppliers.
