The Leatherne Bottel

Idyllically tucked away between the Oxfordshire downs and River Thames, the Leatherne Bottel serves elegant food in polished surroundings. In summer, lunch is enjoyed on the terrace surrounded by the restaurant’s own herb and vegetable gardens; in winter guests retire to the smart dining room with its large open fireplaces and feel of understated luxury. A modern European menu is spiked with hints of pacific rim influence from head chef Julia Storey who spent years in New Zealand. She creates dishes such as chicken livers and roast pear with goats' cheese curd and pomegranate molasses, and steamed fillet of wild halibut, fricassée of vegetables, glazed bok choy, tomato and basil beurre blanc. The ‘affordable luxury’ lunch and dinner menus offer good value, high calibre cuisine.
