National Slate Museum

The National Slate Museum is set among the towering slate tips of Dinorwig Quarry, giving a wonderful insight into the history of Slate-quarrying in north Wales. A living, working piece of history that is sited in the original Victorian workshops, the Museum tells the story of the slate industry from nurturing traditional crafts and skills to the harsh realities of quarrying life for over 15,000 men (and boys) of Gwynedd. One of the highlights is a row of quarrymen´s houses that have been furnished as they would have been in the 19th and 20th century.
