The Lloyd Gill Gallery
The Lloyd Gill Gallery has been running successfully for one year and has shown 8 curated group shows. The gallery has shown internationally renowned artists including Clare Carter who has had a succession of European residences. The gallery has drawn visitors from Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Cardiff, London and Europe including Denmark. The gallery has recently associated with Weston University Campus with the curation of 14 different students together in a group exhibition to raise awareness of Contemporary Art in the Victorian built town of Weston-super-Mare. To develop the community and encourage the students to develop a professional standard, a prize has been introduced called ´Contemporary Art Practitioner at the Lloyd Gill Gallery 2008´ to motivate one student. | Location: | (From the North) Take the M5 from Bristol and turn off at A370 continue onto flowerdown bridge (A370) continue onto Herliuwin way right at Winterstoke Road (still A370) straight over Hildenshiem bridge (over train station and onto Station Road. Go past the Tescos petrol station and first left onto Graham Road. First right on to Beaconsfield, second house on the right (Lee House). Always parking on the front on Saturdays.
(From the South) Take the M5 from Bridgewater and turn off at A38 and onto A370 continue past Brean and Bleadon Hill. Continue straight to and follow bend to hospital. Go straight across roundabout onto Bridgewater Road (A370) past Weston University Campus on the right continue straight. Veer left and continue past New Broadoak School. Turn right at Golf Course onto Beech Road. Continue straight past Beach Lawns. Continue till Ellenbough North and turn right. Turn left at Walliscot Road continue past Neva Road and take a right at Beaconsfield. Second to last house on the left, Lee House. |
