Fitzwilliam Museum
The Fitzwilliam Museum was founded in 1816 by Richard, 7th Viscount Fitzwilliam and is the art museum of the University of Cambridge. One of the oldest museums in the country it houses magnificent collections of works of art and antiquities spanning centuries and civilisations. Highlights include works by Rubens, Titian, Canaletto, Hogarth, Monet, Degas and many others, English and European pottery, glass, sculpture, furniture, clocks, armour, ceramics, manuscripts, coins and medals, paintings, drawings and prints and much more. There is a regular programme of exhibitions, events, family activities and music, and a shop and café in the Courtyard. Admission is free.
