Overview

Sick of cookie cutter presents and fancy a bit of originality? Get thee to the Devon Guild of Craftsmen, the south west's biggest contemporary craft centre which houses everything from metalwork, textiles and sculptures to photography and jewellery. The centre hosts a wide variety of exhibitions and events across the year, showcasing some of the region's most talented artists – cuurently you can see work by around 240 different designers and craftspeople. The guild also acts as an educational charity which teaches craft and design methods through its outreach programme, in-house workshops and regular talks. This spacious gallery is enhanced by a large craft shop and the Terrace Café, all housed in a Grade II riverside mill overlooking scenic Dartmoor.
