Overview

Discover the archaeology of the Cotswolds at the award-winning Corinium Museum. Cirencester was Roman Britain second largest city and at Corinium Museum you can experience life as a Roman; marvel at the stunning mosaics, enjoy the sights and smells of a Roman garden, dress as a Roman soldier and explore their engineering and artistry. Also trace a path from Iron Age to the English Civil War. A story of war, of wool, of royalty; of dissolved monasteries and a local worthy's rise from rags to riches. Re-united with their astonishing treasures, you will come face to face with the Anglo Saxons of Lechlade. Look our ancestors in the eye and wonder how life was for them. Corinium Museum is also home to Cirencester Visitor Information Centre and gift shop and has an adjourning Café. Contact the Museum or see our website for details of our special events, workshops and exhibitions.
