The Samling hotel is set in a 67 acre estate, it´s like no other place you´ve stayed. This is a house in the country and, emphatically, not a country house hotel. Food here is outstanding and full of good ideas. The cellar gains new admirers with every visit too. You can book The Samling like any other hotel, or you can have it all to yourself. All the rooms are startlingly different and all but two have stunning views over Lake Windermere. Five are in the main house and six have been fashioned out of the original cottages. There is no best room, everyone has their own favourite.
