Dunvegan Castle & Gardens
Dunvegan Castle is the oldest home in Scotland and has been inhabited by the Chiefs of MacLeod for nearly 800 years, and it remains their home. Built on a rock on the shores of Loch Dunvegan, it was once surrounded entirely by salt water. On display are collections of portraits, paintings, furniture, weapons and the famous Fairy Flag, which legend says will bring success to the clan, and also the Bonnie Prince Charlie exhibition. The walled garden has its own standing stone and pyramid along with its famous Water Gardens. A boat trip on the Loch takes one to the seal colony.
