Hatchlands Park
Hatchlands is set in a beautiful 430 acre Repton Park, open everyday offering a variety of way-marked walks. The house was built for the naval hero Admiral Boscawen in 1756 and has some of the earliest surviving interiors by Robert Adam, which are decorated in a nautical style. Inside is the Cobbe collection of paintings and portraits, which includes works by Van Dyck, Gainsborough and Zoffany. Also the world´ s largest collection of keyboard instruments associated with famous composers, including J C Bach, Chopin, Mahler and Elgar. Outside is a small garden by Gertrude Jekyll.
