Palace House & Beaulieu Abbey

Palace House, once the Great Gatehouse of Beaulieu Abbey, is the family home of Lord Montagu of Beaulieu. The house contains splendid rooms full of fine portraits, pictures, furniture, photographs and many treasures collected by past generations from their travels around the world. The dining room has linenfold panelling that was salvaged from the old House of Commons. The surviving monastic buildings now house an exhibition about its history and the life of worship lived there by the monks. The world famous National Motor Museum is now housed at Beaulieu.
