Saltram House


Saltram House is a remarkable Georgian mansion that features some of Robert Adam´s finest rooms. There are exquisite plasterwork ceilings and some rooms are decorated with original 18th century Chinese wallpaper. The fine collection of paintings includes work by Sir Joshua Reynolds and Angelica Kauffmann. The house also contains fine original period furniture, china, pictures and a doll´s house. The superb 18th century gardens have an orangery, shrubberies, specimen trees and several follies.

Opening Times: House: 13-20 Feb, Sat & Sun, 12:00-16:30, 12 Mar to 30 Oct, Sat to Thu 12:00-16:30. Last admission to house 45 mins before closing.

Dog Friendly: Dogs Permitted (On leads on designated paths only, not in garden or grazed area of park.)
Location: Three and half miles east of Plymouth city centre, between Plymouth-Exeter road (A38) and Plymouth-Kingsbridge road (A379); take Plympton turn at Marsh Mills roundabout.
